Welcome to the Carnival

Updates from Associate Editor, K.R. Wieland

Hello, all!

I hope you all are diving in to your own copies of Haunted: A Crow Showcase. If not, no worries, you can order it in any and all formats from our website or Amazon. Mine only just arrived and though I’ve had the opportunity to read it already, I can’t wait to read through it again and rediscover all the dark poetry and stories.

If you can’t get enough or Gothic tales and dark poetry, be sure to read our Dark Poet Society Blog and The Crow’s Quill. Both are free to read, and include some amazing writing from the Crow’s as well as the writing community. If you enjoy our magazine and want to be able to read more of it, please head over to our Buy Me A Coffee page and send us a small donation, as this will help to keep it going.

Thank you to all who joined us for the live on Instagram Sunday. It was so fun getting to chat and let you know about our upcoming projects. That includes our latest anthology call for Brackish Harbor, where we want cosmic horror stories set in a small coastal town in New England. Read the prompt on our website for details and make sure to get it in by June 1st! The other anthology is Bleak Midwinter and all stories are due by September 13th. This is a little more open to interpretation, but we do ask that you do not send Christmas or Krampus stories.

If you have a finished novel and you think it may be a good fit for Quill & Crow, please send it our way. We will be closing novel submission on May 1st, so you have a few more weeks to perfect those and get them to us.

The other exciting news is that we are finishing up on our Carnival Macabre anthology! There will be a cover reveal Friday, so keep your eyes out for it! We will also be opening up for preorders too.

As always, when submitting a story, make you sure you check the Submissions Page and send it to the right email. We try to be vigilant, but things can get lost if they are sent incorrectly.

Much love from my Little Black Heart,

K.R. Wieland
