Silent Evermore

Somehow he’d forgotten
His lover, truly rotten
Surprised the passion they’d begotten
Lay dead upon the floor.
She’d warned him of her sorrow
Still he thought her he could borrow
Thought she’d still be there tomorrow
Dropped her heart upon the floor.
But most amusing was his eyes
When she took him by surprise
And cut out his tongue of lies
With the shards along the floor.
Mute in her chambers, numb
His hands left without their thumbs
Can only listen as she hums
Chained up upon the floor.
His cruelty provoked hers,
Now he is silenced,
Evermore
