Hello, all!
June is here, and for Quill & Crow, summer is in full swing! We hope you all are finding ways to enjoy this time of year and stay cool. We’ll still be doing our best to bring you as much Gothic literature as possible.
First off this month, we’ll be bringing you Violent Delights and Midsummer Dreams. This is an anthology of Shakespeare retellings, complete with a macabre twist. All these stories take the classic, often already dark tales and turn them into something that is darker, Gothic, and horrifying while you can still see the original shining through. This is our last anthology for the foreseeable future and you definitely want to read this collection. You can preorder right now at The Crow Shoppe and it will be released, this midsummer (June 24th).
Our next collection to come to you this summer is Ending in Ashes by the wonderful Rebecca Jones-Howe. Rebecca has such a unique writing style that we absolutely love! In her short story collection, she combines a Neo-Gothic style with erotic horror. This collection will be released August 13th, but you can preorder it now. You can find some of Rebecca’s writing in previous issues of The Crow’s Quill as well.
Blood Coven is book one of The Blood Bound Series by Sabrina Voerman, and will be coming September 13th. I cannot say how excited I am for this story. This is another Fairy Tale Retelling based off Little Red Riding Hood. If you haven’t guessed from the title, this story incorporates witches, and lots of them. The story centers around the Coven, twisting the original tale into an amazing dark fantasy story you need to read.
This fall, we have the honor of bringing you All the Parts of the Soul by Catherine Fearns. This is a historical fiction novel about the Geneva Witch Trials. What will keep you on your toes is the unreliable narrator of the story. What is truth and what is fiction? We’ll be talking more about this story leading up to its release on October 20th.

Reyes to discuss the upcoming anthology. Listen in on Wednesday, June 14th as they talk Gothic Fiction and Violent Delights & Midsummer Dreams.
