Haunting & Macabre

Updates from Associate Editor, K.R. Wieland

Hello all,

Some exciting news to share with you this week!

Author Rosalyn Briar has signed with us for the publication of her dark fantasy novel, Her Dark Enchantments. We look forward to sharing her beautifully dark and magical story with all of you. Be on the lookout for it Spring 2023.

Another huge congratulations goes out to all the authors selected for our upcoming anthology, Carnival Macabre. We are so excited to share more about this in the upcoming weeks--including the reveal of the amazing cover by Marie Casey.

You may have seen the announcement from the lovely Damon Barret Rho that we will be continuing The Crow’s Quill magazine. We had considered pausing it from time management, but it has become a labor of love for us and we will continue to work hard on it. You can submit a Carnival themed story for May’s issue to us by April 10th, or a Melancholia themed story, due May 10th for June’s issue. Be sure to check our Submissions page for more details on how to submit.

Haunted: A Crow Showcase is coming April 5th, but preorders are live now. This anthology has been a fun way for us to tell our own stories of what Haunted means to each of us. Inside you’ll find a variety of stories and poems, all of which will keep you on your toes! Grab paperbacks, hardcovers, tanks and tees in our Crow Shop.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed doing Instagram lives and having all you lovely folks join us. There will be another one today, Sunday, March 27 at noon, so be sure to mark your calendars and tune in. Please feel free to bring questions as there may be a time for that, we just ask that you be respectful. Win a free copy of Haunted!

And, just in case you missed it, we announced yesterday that we will be accepting stories for a new collection. Tales from Brackish Harbor will be an anthology of eldritch horror based on a prompt. We hope to hear your stories about this small fishing town and what caused its demise. For the full description, and to find out the guidelines, please visit our Submissions page.

Much love from my Little Black Heart,

K.R. Wieland
