Crows, Pride, & Grimoires
Updates by K.R. Wieland
First off, let me start by saying, Happy Pride Month!
The window to preorder Crow Calls Volume IV is slowly closing, because…it will be released Monday! That’s right, Monday June 13, our fourth volume of dark and gothic poetry will be out in the world. To be honest, some days it still feels a bit surreal to me, not only to be published, but to get to work with the lovely Crows.
With the release this month, the Crows have chosen our prompt words for #CrowCalls which you can find on Instagram and Twitter. We love to see others participating in the prompts and reading all your poetry. So, please join in and use the hashtag so we see it!
Also to celebrate the release, be sure to tune in to Instagram on Monday night at 6pm EST. We will be having a Release Party featuring four of the Crows who will be chatting together, and you can have an opportunity to win a free copy of the paperback! These Instagram Lives are always a blast and this one won’t disappoint with A.L. Garcia, Lucas Mann, Chuck Smith, and J.S. Larmore present.
As mentioned in the previous newsletter, our Dark Poet Society Blog is live. This month you can find a selection of poetry centered around the theme of Solstice. As always, I highly recommend checking these out as the poets work hard to write them each month and they are always so fantastic!
The newest issue of The Crow’s Quill is also live and free for you to read. This month’s issue of Melancholia is just so good and really hits hard. I hope you take the time to read the stories and poems within and don’t be afraid to let us know how you liked it!
Finally, we have a brand new submissions call open now for September. Explore our mysterious new anthology on our Submissions Page.
Much love from my Little Black Heart,
