Authors, Submissions & Brackish Harbor
Updates from associate editor, K.R. Wieland

Hello all!
Friends, it is well into August now, which is crazy. but also so exciting! We have some cool stuff
happening right now and I can’t wait to share it all with you.
First off, Tales from Brackish Harbor will be officially released on Saturday, August 13. If you have, or still want to preorder, you can do that. You do not want to miss out on this anthology of Eldritch Horror set in the small island town on the Atlantic Ocean. We have an amazing selection of stories inside by some new authors as well as returning Quill & Crow authors, and each one will make you question what you think you know.
In other exciting news, we have recently announced two new authors. Sabrina Voerman, whose story
Sobriquet appeared in Carnival Macabre, has signed with us for her four book dark fantasy series: The
Blood Bound Series. Megan Bontrager, author of Faim in Eros & Thanatos, has also signed with us for her cosmic/dark fantasy book: Eye of the Ouroboros. We are so excited for these authors and their
stories, and look forward to sharing more about them with you soon.
The time is dwindling, friends, to submit your short stories for our Bleak Midwinter anthology. The
deadline for these stories is September 13th. We are looking more for stories that encompass the
darkness of the season and literary themes over Christmas/Krampus gore. So, lean into that
psychological, slow-burn horror as opposed to the slasher-style for this one. For more information,
please see our submissions page.
I am pleased to remind you, in case you missed it, that the submission deadline for Rituals & Grimoires has been pushed back to October 1. We hope this gives you all more time to write and perfect these stories and I am, as always, excited to see what dark tales you’ll tell. For more information on
submission guidelines, please take a look on our website.
For any other submission information, please head to our website and be sure to check out The Crow’s
Quill. We have our themes for the rest of the year up for you to be thinking and writing for. We ask that
you please ensure that you submit to the correct email so that your story does not get lost.
While checking out our website, you can also do a little shopping. You can preorder The Ancient Ones
Book 3, along with Brackish Harbor, as well as purchase one of our previously published books. We have a ton of fun merchandise so you can dress like a Crow, too!
Much love from my Little Black Heart,
K.R. Wieland
